Tracy Bulldogs 0 | 0 | 0 | 14 | 14
Lodi Flames 0 | 14 | 0 | 0 | 14
The Bulldogs had a couple of turnovers in the first half and some costly penalties to prevent themselves from finding any rhythm. They found themselves down 14-0 going into the half and it stayed that way until late into the fourth quarter. But with under 3 minutes left in the game, the mojo was found and they mounted a valiant comeback to tie the game at 14. Had they had more time, the momentum of the game would have likely resulted in a win.
Q1 - After giving up a lot of yardage to the Flames on their opening six minute drive, the Tracy defense held in the red zone preventing a Lodi score.
Tracy then has a promising opening drive but it is halted on their first fumble of the day. The quarter ends with no score.
Q2 - Lodi scores on the 2nd play of the 2nd quarter with 9:38 left. Tracy is unable to get anything else done on offense in the first half and Lodi scores their 2nd touchdown just before the half to go up 14-0.
Q3 - There is no scoring in the quarter.
Q4 - Trailing 14-0 throughout the 2nd half, the Dogs finally get on the scoreboard and show life with a 20 yard pass from Juan Godoy to Josh Verduzco. The extra point by Matthew Lavelle has plenty of leg but hits the upright and is no good. 14-6.
The Bulldogs then recover the onside kick near midfield but a penalty nullifies the play and the Dogs are pushed back to kick again. The 2nd onside kick is also successful and Tracy has the ball at their own 40 with 2:50 left and the clock is moving. Tracy has great success with their run and pass plays and move the ball efficiently down the field. Wtih 30.2 seconds left, Malachi Bartholomew scores on a run play up the middle to bring the Bulldogs to within a point. The 2 point conversion is given right back to Bartholomew who scores again to tie the game with 30 seconds left.
JV will play their final game next week at home vs West.

St. Mary's Rams 7 | 3 | 7 | 0 | 17
Tracy Bulldogs 0 | 6 | 0 | 15 | 21
Tracy was down and just about out in this game trailing 17-6 and the Rams were in control, but a late 2nd half comeback and a physical up the middle score with just seconds left gave Tracy an exciting victory. Oh but wait, they also had to survive the final offensive play by St. Mary's where the ball was passed/lateraled 8 times in 35 seconds before Tracy could declare victory having survived the "8 ball."
Tracy had an awful start to their game as they fumbled on the first play from scrimmage and then two more times in the first quarter. With 4:57 left in the quarter, the Rams scored on an 8 yard touchdown pass. 7-0
Q2 7:11 - Rams kick a field goal to go up 10-0.
With 2:13 left in the half, the first bit of good luck happens for Tracy when Noah Porter recovers a fumble at the 37 yard line of St. Mary's. Juan Godoy finds Elijah Castanon on a 16 yard touchdown pass with 13 seconds left. The extra point is blocked.
Rams up 10-6 at the Half

With 4:17 left in the quarter, Malachi Bartholomew lights up the crowd with a 65 yard run down to the Rams 20. The drive stalls and a Matthew La Velle field goal is just short.
It appears with time running down in the 3rd quarter that St. Mary's has all the momentum and is putting together a methodical drive.
Q4 - With 9:30 left and the Rams about to score in the North end zone, a hit is laid on the ball carrier and the ball is fumbled into the back of the end zone for a touchback. This play begins the shift in momentum that Tracy will ride til the end.
Tracy then puts together a long drive that culminates in a 1 yard score by Barhtolomew with 7:05 left. Godoy keeps the ball for the 2 point conversion to put Tracy down by 3, 17-14.
With 4:25 left in the game, St. Mary's fumbles at their own 35.
A battle in the red zone begins as Tracy muscles their way on a series of plays down to the four yard line, then the two, then the one with 1:07 left. The clock then falls under a minute as Tracy faces a 4th down at the two. An offsides call places the ball at the one. With 18 seconds left, Bartholomew finds a gap just left of center and fights his way in for a score to go up 20-17. The La Velle extra point makes it 21-17.
With 13 seconds left and leading by four, Tracy kicks off and the Rams begin their quest for magic at their 40 yard line. The Rams would pass 5 yards to the 45. The ball was then lateraled (almost forward) to a neighboring teammate. He then passed back to the 30, passed to the 23 and advanced to the 28. He then passed back to the 20 who then passed to the 10, who then threw across the field to the 8 who was then tackled at the 7 yard line. In all it was 35 seconds of chaos before Tracy could celebrate.
The Bulldogs now have a chance to win league outright but it will take two final wins and St. Mary's defeating Lincoln.
